The Roman Days of Vinkovci

In Vinkovci, the Legion takes part in a three-day program set within the city’s historical park, surrounded by vendor stands and a small amphitheater. The first two days are dedicated to Roman military formations, gladiator training, and rehearsals for the large stage performance that concludes the festival. Visitors can explore the camp, meet the legionaries, and watch demonstrations of discipline, combat, and daily life.

On the final day, the event expands into the streets of Vinkovci with a parade through the city center, joined by local legionaries, barbarians, and other participants. The procession returns to the park, where staged battles with the barbarian warriors unfold before the gathered crowd. The festival ends with the full theatrical performance in the amphitheater—complete with coordinated scenes, gladiatorial combats, and the final display of Roman power and pageantry.
