Ptuj - Slovenia

Once again, the might of Rome marched through Poetovio. In flawless formation and fierce combat, the Legions revived the glory of the Empire — discipline, honor, and the spirit of Rome, eternal and unconquered.

The Roman Days of Poetovio

For three days, the vineyard hills of Ptuj transform into ancient Poetovio — a living Roman encampment where soldiers, citizens, and barbarians share one stage of history.

Day I – As the sun sets, the Legions assemble. Each cohort displays its command style and precision in formation, followed by a gathering in the handmade triclinum - a roman dining house. There, participants dine as true Romans — tasting authentic dishes and local wine, sharing stories of the Empire’s grandeur.

Day II – The march continues into the city’s heart. Through the square, the Legions demonstrate their discipline in a clash against the barbarian tribes, before triumphantly advancing through the streets of Poetovio.

Day III – Among the vineyard hills, the Legions unite in a full-scale performance — the complete might and majesty of Rome reborn. Formations unfold, shields thunder, and the spirit of the Empire stands eternal.

A group of people dressed as Roman soldiers with shields and helmets are standing in a line, facing forward. Behind them, there is a stage with seated individuals, some dressed in historical or Roman-style costumes. The stage has a person dressed as a Roman senator or emperor, wearing a red cape and a crest with a helmet, standing in front of a shield decorated with a blue background, yellow fish, and crescent moons. The scene appears to be part of a historical reenactment or cultural event.
